TH Animal Hospital is the first privately owned animal hospital in the Asia Pacific region to provide MRI services for animals.

Indications that should be considered for an MRI
1. Neurological brain diseases such as epilepsy and blindness.
2. Joint diseases such as broken knee bones.
3. Tumors of the eye and nasopharynx.
Procedures for undergoing an MRI
General health checks should first be conducted to ensure that your animal is at minimal risk from anesthesia use and for selection of intubation ventilation in all cases.
In case of transfers from another hospital for examination, please help to attach a blood profile at least 3 days before the examination. Please include previous medical records to be used for the selection of anesthesia and estimation of anesthesia risks.
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
TH Animal Hospital is the first privately owned animal hospital in the Asia Pacific region to provide MRI services for animals.
The MRI conducts physical examinations by visualising organs and tissues into detailed images. The MRI scanner uses a high intensity magnetic field together with radio frequencies that are transmitted into the body and then creating reflected waves. The signals created are then processed and formed into images by computer.
The MRI Images will be as detailed and as sharp as an actual dissection of the body. This will help the veterinarian to be able to examine thoroughly for any unusual abnormalities or anomaly in your animal’s body. In the case of MRI procedures for animals, your animal will be required to be anesthetized because the process requires the animal to be completely still otherwise movement will be blur the resulting images.

The price rate for conducting a MRI examination
The price ranges from 15,000 to 20,000 baht depending on the size of your animal and the area of the examination (the increased time and number of repetitions required can also make the price vary).
Prior to the MRI, the animal must be anesthetized. The cost of anesthesia is not included in the cost of an MRI. Assessment of weight and history of allergies to medication will be reviewed in order to be able to ascertain what is the right anesthesia for your animal. The quote will then be given separately.
In some cases, it may be necessary to inject a Contrast Dye during the MRI in order to provide a more enhanced detailed image to evaluate the problem area of the animal’s body to improve the diagnostic accuracy of the scan.
